Furtiva guides
Honest, jargon-free guides to sharing photos and videos without leaving a permanent copy behind — whether the question is about a specific app, a specific risk, or just “how do I send this privately?”.
How to choose a private way to share
There is no single “most private” method, because the right answer depends on what you want to control. A one-to-one share that should vanish is different from a group album you all want to keep. Four questions decide it:
- Who can open it? Public feed, a private group, or exactly one person you chose.
- How long should it survive? Forever, until you revoke it, or on an automatic timer.
- Can it be found later? Searchable, “unlisted but permanent”, or excluded from search entirely.
- Who holds the off switch? The platform, the recipient, or you — after it has already been opened.
The four ways to share a photo, compared
| Method | Who controls expiry | Searchable? | Permanent copy? | Sign-in needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Public feed | Platform | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Cloud-drive link | You (until you forget) | Often indexed | Yes — in your account + backups | Usually |
| Chat attachment | The app’s delete window | No | Yes — in both histories + cloud backups | Yes |
| Furtiva private link | You + an automatic 24 h timer | No — blocked from search engines | No — deleted within 24 h or on the view limit | No |
A one-line definition
Private photo sharing means only the person you chose can open the photo, it cannot be found by search engines, and it stops existing on a schedule you set (or sooner, if you unsend it). Furtiva is built so that forgetting to revoke a link is safe: the link dies on its own.

Frequently asked
What is the most private way to share a photo?
A link that is not stored in a permanent account, is excluded from search engines, and expires on its own — with a way for the sender to kill it early. Furtiva gives one private link per photo: an expiry of up to 24 hours, up to 20 views, no search-engine listing, and unsend anytime.
Which guide should I read first?
If you want to send a photo to one person, start with how to send private photos on any app. If you have already sent something and want it gone, read unsend a photo. If you are choosing between expiring-link tools, read temporary photo links.
Are the guides available in other languages?
Yes — every guide exists in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Use the EN / PT / ES switcher at the top of any page, and each localized page declares its language alternates to search engines.
Ready to try it? Send a private photo on Furtiva — free, no account, gone within 24 hours. The fine print lives in our Terms of Use & Privacy Policy (in English), including the NCII and abuse-reporting policy.
Want a link that disappears on its own? Make a temporary photo link that expires when you choose, or a one-time photo link that can be viewed just once.
